Day 1 : Marrakech– High Atlas Mountains– Ait Benhadou– Ouarzazate– Dades Valley
On the first day of our 7-day tour from Marrakech, you will begin the journey by meeting your guide in the morning either at the location of your accommodation or anywhere else in Marrakech. You will begin your journey by driving through the High Atlas Mountains in order to reach the highest road, Tizi n Tishka, which is approximately 2260 meters in height. Here, you will make a pit stop in order to take in the breathtaking views of the winding roads and valleys. After that, you will continue on to reach Ait Benhadou village around midday, where you will have a tour to visit this ancient Kasbah (Fortified village) that dates back to the 11th century and is recognized as world heritage by Unesco as an example of southern Moroccan architecture of mud houses. In addition, it has served as a filming location for both “Game of Thrones” and “Gladiator.” After the trip, you have the option of having lunch here or continuing on to the subsequent location, which is Ouarzazate. Following lunch, you will make a pit stop in front of Atlas Studios, which is where a number of movies, like “The Mommy” and “Prince of Persia,” were shot. At this point, you can choose whether you want to actually go inside or just take a picture of the exterior, which features a number of statues that appear to be of ancient Egyptian pharaohs. Later on, you will go toward Dades valley by driving through Rose Valley, where, if you are interested, you can make a pit stop to purchase rose items. You will arrive at the hotel in the late afternoon after continuing on your journey into Dades valley.
Day 2 : Dades Valley- Todra Gorge- Sahara Desert
After breakfast on the second day of our desert tour from Marrakech, you will begin your drive towards the Sahara Desert. Along the way, you will make a stop at the rock formation in Dades Valley that is colloquially referred to as Monkey Toes. After stopping for some photographs, you will go toward Tinghir, known for its breathtaking Todra Valley and Gorges. You will have an enjoyable and invigorating stroll through the narrow and tall cliffs of the gorges, and then you will continue driving to an old underground irrigation system in the area called El Khettarat, which you will explore and learn more about how water is preserved in dry environments. After that, you will carry on with this Marrakech to Fes tour in order to get to Merzouga Desert. As soon as you arrive there, you wrap your scarf and get ready for the adventure. You go through the dunes on camels until you reach the center, where you stop to take in the breathtaking sunset before mounting your camels once more and continuing on to the desert camp. After you have been shown to your tents, you will have a fabulous dinner. After dinner, local Berbers will provide entertainment for you by playing music on drums while sitting around the campfire under the night sky.
